The first thing that we wanted to do was a canopy tour. With the day only just beginning we drove into town and found the tourist info place. The canopy tour guides picked us up right from there, and before we knew it there we were flying through the rainforest.
Some of the platforms were 10 stories tall, and some were on the ground.
After that it was finding a place to stay. We found a small private cottage for $30. usd.
The next morning we decided to go on one more waterfall hike to get us ready for the long car ride to the beach.
This waterfall was close by, and about a thousand stairs down.
After our hikes to the waterfalls, it was off to the beach. One of my wife's dreams has always been to ride horses on the beach. Just where to do that was the question. I had been to Manuel Antonio before in the south, and did not remember seeing horses or anything for rent, so I decided to head to the northern beaches. We drove almost all day, and found a hotel on the beach. That morning after a little body surfing, the guys at the hotel told us where to go for the horses. I decided a 2 hour horse back ride would be fun. My wife is great on horses, but I have only ridden a couple of times. In hindsite 1 hour would have been fine. My butt was sore for about a week. I did not get any pictures because I chose to leave my camera behind. (horses and big SLR's dont mix) After we were done riding it was back to San Jose to catch an airplane in the morning. The only time it rained was at night, and after we got off the horses. It rained so hard that they shut down the airport. That is a driving experience that I wont forget. I turned the rental car in on a half tank and paid the $25.00 extra for not filling up. I am personally a cheapscate, but that is how bad the rain was. I left out a ton, mostly because I dont have pics to back it up. Thanks for reading.
